It’s known how big a hit was the horror-comedy ‘Geethanjali’ (2014), which came in the presentation of prominent writer-turned-producer Kona Venkat and the production of MVV Cinema. The Anjali-starrer not only became a box-office success but also acted as a trendsetter for more films in the genre.
Now the sequel shoot started recently and it’s directed by debutant Shiva Turlapati. It’s ‘Geethanjali Malli Vachindhi’, which is envisioned to be a novel and distinct entertainer by MVV Cinema and Kona Film Corporation. Talented Anjali playing the titular role and it begins where Geethanjali ended.
Recently the makers started shoot for the sequel. Needless to say, this sequel too will be in same horror-comedy genre. ‘Geethanjali Malli Vachindi’ is being produced as a large-budget horror entertainer. In early 2024, the film will be released in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam languages.
The filmmakers are certain that this sequel will outperform all previous horror comedy films. This film’s narrative will take place in Hyderabad and Ooty. So far, the filmmakers have finished 80 percent of the filming. With one more schedule in Ooty, the entire shoot will be completed.
Geethanjali is a blockbuster film in Anjali’s career and now this sequel Geethanjali Malli Vachindhi is a milestone 50th film on her career, making it more special. The film will be produced by MVV Satyanarayana and GV. Pravin Lakkaraju is scoring music while Suhatha Siddhartha will be handling the cinematography. Story is written by Kona Venkat.
Apart from Anjali, the film stars Srinivas Reddy, Satyam Rajesh, Satya, Shakalaka Shankar, Ali, Brahmaji, Ravi Shankar, Rahul Madhav and others. The sequel will bring back many of the technicians and actors that collaborated on Geethanjali. The film was a game changer for everyone’s careers, and they are now doing their best for the sequel as well. More details will be announced soon.
