In the recently held Telangana assembly elections, senior Congress leader Komati Reddy Venkat Reddy has been appointed the state’s Minister of Cinematography. The Congress party secured 64 seats in the elections, and Chief Minister Revanth Reddy swore in 12 ministers, including Komati Reddy Venkat Reddy.
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has issued orders allocating departments to the newly sworn-in ministers. According to the orders, Komati Reddy Venkat Reddy, elected as MLA from Nalgonda, has been assigned to the road construction and cinematography departments. He is set to assume these responsibilities from today.
This is not the first time Komati Reddy Venkat Reddy has held ministerial responsibilities. In 2009, during Rajasekhar Reddy’s regime, he served as the Minister of Information Technology, Sports, Youth, Communications, Airports, Ports, and Natural Gas Industries.
Subsequently, he resigned from his post during the separate Telangana movement, becoming an advocate for the cause against the authoritarian government.
Earlier, Talasani Srinivas Yadav used to be the cinematography minister of Telangana. Now, with Komatireddy’s entry into the ministry, we have to see if the government revives the Nandi Awards for Tollywood.
Very soon, the film industry personalities are expected to meet Komatireddy Venkatreddy to express their greetings.
