Opinion: All The Magic Lies In ‘Trailer Cut’

Published by

There are times when some films are not really that bad, and some are too good. But then, those movies never got the much bigger openers at the box office. Of course, movie analysts blame it on promotions, but all the real promotion of a movie starts from the trailer cut only.

When the trailers of films like Arjun Reddy, Vikram and Animal came out, those trailers were so intense that the movies got phenomenal openings. At the same time, there are some good films in recent times that didn’t get the first day as expected and that includes the likes of Keeda Kola and other movies. But the logic actually lies in the fact that if a trailer clicks, then surely the film will get more openings, and if the trailer flops, then the ticket-booking speed will be quite low.

In recent times, the best trailer cut came from Sandeep Reddy Vanga for Animal, as that created not only interest in the film but also made people mad and the staggering ₹500+ gross collection is a testimony of that. At the same time, a badly cut trailer for movies like Jigarthanda Double X didn’t do any good in Telugu. That’s the magic of a trailer!
