Failed Both As Director & Writer!

Published by

Vakkantham Vamshi proved his mettle as a proficient script writer with hits like Kick, Race Gurram, Temper and Yevadu. He bagged plaudits for providing solid scripts to critically acclaimed films like Athidi and Osaravelli even though these films failed to score box office success.

Vamshi has a special knack for blending entertainment with commercial elements in his stories. Despite tasting some debacles, he made a noticeable mark and emerged as one of the most reliable writers of the current generation.

While his track record as a story writer is promising to some extent, his attempts to create a niche as a director came a cropper. His debut directional Naa Peru Surya, Naa Illu India, starring Allu Arjun in the lead role, ended as a huge disaster and dampened his spirits.

Five years later, Vamshi came up with his second directional in the form of Nithiin’s Extra Ordinary Man which released this Friday. The film secured below-par reviews and poor word of mouth on the first day. Except for some entertaining dialogues, there is nothing great to rave about his direction. The film is likely to end up as a disaster at the box office as the weekend numbers are very dismal.

This year is turning out to be a forgettable one for Vamshi because he failed both as a director and a writer. He provided script for Akhil’s Agent which ended up as one of the biggest debacles of all time. Both these results will take a big toll on Vamshi’s future assignments in Tollywood.
