Icon star Allu Arjun and creative director Sukumar’s mass spectacle, “Pushpa: The Rise”, opened in theatres on 17th December 2021, and none expected that the film would deliver something Telugu cinema hadn’t seen by that time. While fantasy and epic films do get pan-india success, “Pushpa 1” proved that even a mass film could outshine the competitors and grab the box office crown, and here is how the film celebrates 2nd anniversary.
By the time, the film’s sequel was in shooting mode, we had Pushpa 1 not only celebrating 2nd anniversary but also grabbing much acclaim including two National Awards, one for Best Actor (Allu Arjun) and the other one for Music (Devi Sri Prasad). From the Dadasaheb Phalke award to SIIMA awards, viral ‘taggedhele’ reels to a gesture that turned iconic with Ministers, Cricketers, Film STars and various international stars replicating it, the Pushpa 1 spelt its magic on every movie lover. Also in its final run, the film collected nearly ₹360+ crores gross, thus becoming a terrific success for a mass film that was released without any expectations.
That brings us to Pushpa 2, in which Sukumar and his creative brilliance are expected to take the audience for a bigger surprise. Like the way Baahubali 2 shattered many records, movie lovers and trade pundits are hoping that even Pushpa 2 will create a new mark with gigantic openings, especially at the Bollywood box office. Cut to the heroine, Rashmika Mandanna got huge appreciation with Animal performance, surely Pushpa 2 will push her to more heights as well.
