The Telangana Theatres Association has met on Saturday and discussed about reopening of theatres in the state. In this meeting, the members had an extensive discussion on various aspects of the post lockdown effect. Later the representative spoke to the media and expressed their concerns.
“We have faced huge losses due to complete shutdown. On top of it, we are receiving high electricity bills. With a big heart Telangana CM KCR should give us incentives. This initiative will make the theatres survive, if not we will stoop into more losses,” said a member.
Further the member stated they don’t think audiences would come to theatres like the pre-lockdown period. But even if fifty percent of the capacity gets filled, they would be happy. “We will take all precautions like ticketless entry into halls, less gathering during the intermission and others. Overall we are ready to open theatres and hope the Telangana government gives permission regarding the same,” added the members.
As part of #Unlock 5.0, the Centre has left the decision to the states to reopen theatres from October 15th. Accordingly theatres association has met and now they are awaiting a decision from the state government.
