Just before the release of their films, not many directors usually accept where did they borrowed the content from or inspired from which film. Many times, only after the release we do know that the story is actually based on another film that few people already watched. But then, KGF director Prashanth Neel is entirely different.
Back in 2014, Prashanth Neel came up with the film “Ugramm” which has hero Srimurali, his sister’s husband (also the cousin of Shiva Rajkumar) playing the lead. While the film got rave reviews, the director felt that it didn’t receive the kind of attention and reception it actually should. For that reason, he has taken the same story with significant changes, and added the Khansar city backdrop to it by giving a KGF like touch, and retold it to the world as Salaar now with Prabhas playing the lead.
In a Kannada interview, the director clarified that he can’t get over Ugramm and hence he took the plot line to carve out Salaar, but the film will be full of KGF touch, and will surely stun even the ones who have already watched the 2014 Kannada movie. Well, not many directors will openly agree to such facts, but Prashanth Neel is someone who is not the regular pack. Salaar storm starts tonight in Telugu states and all over India too.
