As the festive season approaches, the Telugu film industry gears up for the highly anticipated Sankranthi releases, bringing joy and entertainment to audiences across the state. Let’s take a closer look at the status of these films and the excitement they promise as the likes of Guntur Kaaram, Hanu Man, Eagle, Saindhav, Naa Saami Ranga, Captain Miller, Meerry Christmas, Ayalaan and Mission Chapter 1 are set to hit theatres.
Guntur Kaaram:
Mahesh & Trivikram’s “Guntur Kaaram” is a work in progress, with the first copy expected to be ready by the 8th or 9th of January. Insiders acknowledged the last-minute tensions that come with the final stages of production, including shooting, editing lock, and BGM work. That said, the film will be hitting cinemas on Jan 12th without fail.
HanuMan:
Good news for fans of “HanuMan” – the first copy of this Teja Sajja starrer is already complete. Only a few VFX shots need replacement, a task that is expected to be accomplished in the next couple of days. This puts the film on the fast track for export, as it is in the January 12th race.
Saindhav:
Venkatesh’s “Saindhav” has its final copy ready, according to the director Sailesh Kolanu’s statement in a Gulte interview. However, the final mixing is currently underway in Chennai, with Santosh Narayan at the helm. Fans can expect the film to hit theatres by January 13th without any hassles.
Eagle:
The first copy of Raviteja’s “Eagle” is ready, with only re-recording checks and final mixing pending. The film seems to be on track for a timely release, setting the stage for an exciting cinematic experience for Sankranthi on 13th January.
Naa Saami Ranga:
Nagarjuna’s fastest-shot film ever, “Naa Saami Ranga” is all set to get wrapped by the end of December. While they may shoot the patchwork in January for a couple of days, the film’s final copy will be ready by the first week, and the film is on the way for Sankranthi’s release. Date is not locked yet for the movie, though it is confirmed.
Captain Miller:
The newest entrant in the Sankranthi race, Dhanush’s “Captain Miller” is all set for release, with the final copy ready to hit the screens. The team is actively working on securing theatres for a Sankranthi release in Tamilnadu, and if that works out, they will try for theatres in Telugu states too. Date is not locked for the film anyway though Season is fixed.
Merry Christmas:
Vijay Sethupati and Katrina Kaif’s “Merry Christmas” is also gearing up for release during the festive season. With the final copy ready, the filmmakers are not only aiming for Hyderabad theaters for the Hindi version but are also exploring the possibility of a Telugu dubbed version, despite the short time frame. Jan 12th is the release date.
Meanwhile, Rajnikanth daughter’s “Lal Salaam” is said to have moved out of Sankranthi season, as Lyca Productions has other day announced that their film with Arun Vijay and Amy Jackson, “Mission: Chapter1” is set to hit cinemas on Pongal eve. Meanwhile, Siva Karthikeyan’s “Ayalaan” is set for Pongal release, but the film is not making any noise, thus offering doubts about its release.
