Clearing the confusion over the date, King Nagarjuna’s latest film “Naa Saami Ranga” locked January 14th as the release date, which is announced through the title song release the other day. With Guntur Kaaram and Hanu Man coming up on the 12th, Eagle and Saindhav on the 13th, Naa Saami Ranga has locked the third day after that. But here is what trade pundits are saying.
With four films already hitting the screens in the two days prior to Naa Saami Ranga, surely the film might miss out on some good theatres in a few areas. Though Nagarjuna’s Annapurna Studios has blocked their theatres for the release, that will be in limited areas only. Rather than getting into the Sankranthi rat race and grabbing some so-so theatres, Nagarjuna should use the mass appeal of the film for a solo release date, say analysts. Such that he will get good openings as well. With no big hero lining up releases in February, surely a reconsideration would have fetched Nagarjuna big time.
Insiders revealed that Nagarjuna is very keen on releasing Naa Saami Ranga on the Sankranthi eve, as there is no other film that is coming up with mass-content exclusively in the village backdrop for this festival season. That’s the reason he has headed for the release amidst this tough competition.
