Sandeep’s Take On Women Empowerment: Solid, Strong & Sensible

Published by

Released on December 1, the movie Animal achieved close to Rs. 900 crores in collections despite criticism for its violent scenes, demeaning portrayals of women, and vulgar language. The film’s success, however, remained unaffected by the criticisms, pleasing the audience with its impressive box office numbers.

Sandeep Reddy Vanga, who previously tasted success in Bollywood with the remake of ‘Arjun Reddy,’ titled ‘Kabir Singh,’ has once again struck gold with ‘Animal.’

In a recent interview, he addressed various questions, including portraying heroes achieving great feats while women are often confined to domestic roles in his movies.

In response, Sandeep stated, “Women empowerment extends beyond traditional roles, including working, engaging in business, and facing challenges. While portraying women as warriors or educators is empowering, it’s essential to recognize the significant role of homemakers. In my view, being a mother is one of the most significant roles. Mothers play a crucial part in shaping their children’s lives, whether they stay home or balance work with their maternal responsibilities. They are truly remarkable.”

Sandeep knew people would troll him badly, but his definition of Women empowerment makes sense, too, as the director always stays ahead of his contemporaries in delivering compelling narratives.
