Ambati Rayudu had the shortest political run in recent times as his stint with YSRCP less than just 10 days. He then came up with an explanation for leaving YCP but doesn’t make for a compelling argument.
“I Ambati Rayudu will be representing the Mumbai Indians in the upcoming ILt20 from jan 20th in Dubai. Which requires me to be politically non affiliated whilst playing professional sport.” Rayudu tweeted as he presented his reason behind parting with YCP.
However, there is a catch here. If Rayudu really had this tournament in his schedule, he shouldn’t have joined YCP, only to leave the party 10 days later and then go to play in this tourney. If we ignore this aspect, then we should look at Rayudu’s words after joining YCP.
He claimed to be a sincere politician and intends to serve AP people. If he really has this degree of commitment, he can’t be leaving to play cricket now, with less than 3 months to go for the election. So in both ways, Rayudu’s story doesn’t look compelling.
Maybe Rayudu was pressured by someone in YCP to issue a diplomatic note so as to keep his departure as a personal move and not as a shortcoming for YCP.
