Actor Jiiva is known to the Telugu audiences for his portrayal of the protagonist in the film Rangam (Ko in Tamil). However, he could not make use of the film’s success to establish a market for himself in Telugu. Many of his films were dubbed in Telugu but he is yet to get into that league of heroes to have a good market and fan base. But now, he is betting high on the sequel of Yatra.
Reprising the role of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on the screen, Jiiva is embarking on a journey of its own. Recently, he opened up about the risk involved in making this movie.
“Although I loved Jagan anna’s journey, I was very hesitant to take up the film. He’s such an influential figure, and there’s a lot of risk involved in playing such roles. If I don’t do complete justice, my career can go bonkers,” expressed Jiiva.
However, the film’s teaser that has come up recently showcased Jiiva as the right fit to bring Jagan’s life to the screen. The actor seemed to have done a lot of homework to get everything right on the screen.
The film’s first part, Yatra, starring Mammootty is a big hit and that success could easily bring attention to the second part now. The team is confident of the film’s success and Jiiva hopes to grow his market in Telugu states with the film.
Mahi V Raghav is the film’s director.
