Shahid Kapoor has come forward to slash his remuneration for Jersey Hindi remake. Shahid, who is hot under the heels of Kabir Singh’s blockbuster success, had initially signed for Rs 33 crore remuneration and profit percentage with the makers of Jersey. Both the producers and Shahid had mutually agreed upon the terms. However, the deal was signed pre-Covid. Given the prevailing situation in the last few months and change of budgets of filmmaking, makers had requested Shahid to take a pay cut.
Shahid has agreed to take Rs 8 crore pay cut from his fee. With this, Shahid will be charging only Rs 25 crore as his remuneration for the Jersey Hindi remake. However, the profit sharing terms would remain the same. Yet, Shahid cutting down his fee is a welcome development to its makers. Original director Gowtam is going to helm the film while it is being produced by Allu Aravind, Aman Gill and Dil Raju.
Meanwhile, it can also be noted that Tollywood has also proposed a 20 percent pay cut for artists and technicians who are paid more than Rs 5 lakh per film.
