For Sankranthi 2024, various films raced against each other at the box office, and many don’t want to give up the date too. And then, they have successfully fought the war, of course, only some of them have won, and some have bitten the dust without any clue. And the following Friday after the Pongal dates, no big or buzzed film was released from Tollywood. Then comes, Jan 26th, another ideal holiday day.
Surprisingly, there are no big films in theatres other than dubbed movies like Dhanush’s Captain Miller and Siva Karthikeyan’s Ayalaan that are aimed at entertaining the Telugu audience, while their original Tamil versions were released on Jan 12th itself. At the same time, the Hindi movie, Hrithik & Deepika’s Fighter is releasing on the 25th, in Telugu dubbed version as well. Barring some small films like Hansika’s 105 Minutes and another small movie Game On, there are no other big Telugu releases to cash on the Republic Day holiday.
Many are wondering why some Telugu films are fighting for a solo release date in February rather than occupying an empty slot like Jan 26th to test their luck at the box office.
