Usually when small films compete at the box office, at least there will be a couple of winners. But last Friday, when almost a half-dozen movies were released, the result came out differently and only one of them is standing. Let’s have a look at what is happening at the box office right now.
This Friday, we have movies like Suhas’ Ambajipeta Marriage Band, Sohail’s Bootcut Balaraju, and other movies like Happy Ending, Kismat, Dheera, and Game On- released at the box office. Reports from the box office are indicating that other than Ambajipeta, all the other Friday releases got most of their shows cancelled on single screens Saturday and by Sunday afternoon all those screens are being replaced by Sankranthi movies again. Except in some multiplexes, most of the films failed to sell at least 5 tickets in some theatres for the morning show and matinee, forcing the exhibitors to opt for Sankranthi flicks, such that their Sunday market will not go to waste.
No matter how much the actors and directors of these movies make cries on social media and in front of media cameras, their films will run only if they impress with content, not the other way around. Currently, Ambajipeta is having a good run and if the film holds good on the first Monday, surely it will have a good run for a week until biggies like Eagle arrive.
