In Discussion: Strategic Decision of Eagle

Eagle is one of the upcoming releases in Telugu, starring Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja. Karthik Ghattamaneni is the film’s director. The team is betting high on the film’s success. Meanwhile, the team took an interesting decision that will only hugely benefit them.

Unlike the prevailing trend of maximizing profits in the first week by taking advantage of price hikes, the team opted for regular ticket prices. By capping ticket prices at Rs. 200 for multiplexes and Rs. 150 for single screens in Telangana, more footfalls are expected on the opening weekend.

Despite the possibility of setting the maximum limit at Rs. 295, refraining from doing so is expected to attract more moviegoers and result in successful openings. Drawing audiences to theaters on the first day remains a significant challenge in the current scenario. While it may not be a concern for a star hero like Ravi Teja, the underperformance of recent films like Ravanasura and Tiger Nageswara Rao has affected the anticipation for Eagle.

The success of Hanuman, which thrived at the box office without needing a ticket hike, is a testament to this strategy. February typically witnesses a slowdown due to exams, prompting the makers of Eagle to make a calculated decision regarding ticket prices despite their confidence in the film’s content.

Starring Anupama Parameswaran and Kavya Thapar as heroines, with Navadeep, Avasarala Srinivas, Ajay Ghosh, and others in supporting roles, Eagle faces competition from Yatra 2, Lal Salaam and True Lover.
