The news of a biopic series on the life of the late Prime Minister P V Narasimha Rao has hit the headlines now. With PV recently being posthumously honored with the prestigious Bharat Ratna, India’s highest civilian award, Telugu OTT Aha, and another production are bringing this series.
PV’s biopic is titled ‘Half Lion’ and the news that it will be helmed by National award-winning filmmaker Prakash Jha is adding more vibe to it. While the biopic is based on the acclaimed book ‘Half Lion’ by Vinay Sitapati, many are wondering if this series will show some of those facts that the Congress Party has always hidden about the Telugu Tejam who ruled India boldly.
There’s no doubt that ‘Half Lion” will serve as a fitting tribute to one of India’s most influential leaders like PV, capturing the essence of his legacy for generations to come, but if the injustice done to him is not portrayed perfectly, then there is no point in making the biopic. As the director’s previous works showcased the lives of Rajeev Gandhi and Sonia indirectly in movies like Raajneeti and others, we have to see if he will show the true side of PV or not.
Former Prime Minister P V Narasimha Rao is being celebrated for his instrumental role in revolutionizing India’s economy during his tenure from 1991 to 1996. His visionary policies and bold reforms have left an indelible mark on the nation’s history, making him a revered figure in Indian politics.
