Mega Prince Varun Tej recently came up with an exciting film titled Operation Valentine. The makers worked hard to promote the film at the pan-India level. Varun Tej even participated in promotional campaigns in North India. But, the film opened to poor reviews on the release day. Despite of the Varun performance the movie failed to hold at box office. Debut director Shakti Pratap Singh is the main culprit, he failed to utilize the mancho mega hero, and the production house like Sony which reportedly poured 40 crs budget.
Despite the intriguing setting and a different storyline, the audience did not show much enthusiasm to catch the film in theatres. Not just in Hindi, but the fans and movie lovers showed less reception to the film in Telugu screens. Even the revenue from the overseas box office is also negligible.
The film failed to keep the audience hooked despite having an action setup and intense action sequences. The film reportedly earned an overall amount of Rs 6 crore (share) in India during its first weekend.
Operation Valentine is based on the 2019 Pulwama Terrorist Attack and the retaliatory Balakot Air Strikes of 2019 by the Indian Air Force directed by Shakti Pratap Singh.
