Vijay Devarakonda’s latest film “Family Star” is arriving on April 5th and the makers have started the promotions already. However, the recently released lyrical video of the second single, “Kalyani Vaccha Vacchaa” from the film has created a stir. Here’s what the internet is discussing about it.
While the film’s story supposedly revolves around a middle-class protagonist, the song features an extravagant wedding ceremony with lavish sets, designer outfits, and opulent decorations.
Especially Vijay and heroine Mrunal Thakur’s outfits and the set design are quite fancy and costly. This disconnect between the narrative and the visuals has sparked debate. One perspective views this as cinematic liberty. Grand visuals and larger-than-life song sequences are common in Telugu cinema, prioritizing entertainment over strict realism.
However, presenting a highly romanticized and unrealistic portrayal of a middle-class wedding could set unrealistic expectations and downplay the financial limitations such characters would likely face. That’s why many folks are saying, ‘You said middle-class know? why these rich songs?’. Anyway, the true portrayal can only be judged by viewing the entire film.
