The Telugu Film Journalists Association (TFJA) orchestrated a significant event today at Prasad Labs, Hyderabad, where they distributed Health and ID Cards to journalists, marking yet another milestone in their series of impactful initiatives. The event exuded grandeur, with prominent figures from the industry gracing the occasion, including esteemed actors Vijay Devarakonda, R. Narayanamurthy, and Sreenivas Reddy, along with distinguished personalities such as Chairman of Telangana Media Academy, Srinivas Reddy, and renowned producer Dil Raju, among others.
Amidst the jubilant atmosphere, TFJAC shed light on its past endeavors, particularly emphasizing its commitment to providing insurance to accredited journalists over the years. Mr. Surendra Kumar Naidu, the association’s treasurer, elucidated on the meticulous efforts behind raising the insurance fund, extending heartfelt gratitude to the entire film fraternity for their unwavering support in turning this vision into reality. He also hinted at forthcoming details regarding certain journalists who were unable to avail the insurance, promising transparency under the guidance of General Secretary Mr. YJ Rambabu, while expressing gratitude to all attendees for their presence and support.
Mr. Naidu Surendra Kumar, Treasurer of TFJA, reaffirmed TFJA’s dedication to assisting journalists in accessing health cards and insurance, assuring them of round-the-clock availability during emergencies. He articulated his commitment to fostering accountability within the realm of film journalism, emphasizing the forthcoming integration of digital media systems onto a unified platform aimed at cultivating a healthier societal discourse.
Virahat Ali, General Secretary of Telangana State Union of Working Journalists (TUWJ), extended felicitations to the Film Journalists Association for their proactive stance, acknowledging the pivotal role of film news and content in media circulation. He pledged unwavering support to TFJAC’s noble endeavors, recognizing the symbiotic relationship between journalism and societal welfare.
In a resolute address, Lakshminarayana, President of TFJA, underscored the association’s core values of unity and reliability, articulating its overarching mission to provide assurance through insurance. He envisioned a future where the association would champion the distribution of housing plots for journalists, extending heartfelt gratitude to all benefactors who rallied behind their cause.
Srinivas Reddy, Chairman of Telangana Media Academy, echoed the sentiment of housing as a paramount concern for journalists, citing instances of health-related adversities faced by many in the profession. He elucidated on past governmental policies regarding journalist welfare, lamenting their discontinuation over time. However, he expressed optimism under the leadership of Revanth Reddy, highlighting imminent resolutions to accreditation card issues and the provision of housing plots for eligible journalists.
The event culminated with the launch of a Diary, symbolizing a new chapter in journalist welfare, with producer Dil Raju receiving the first copy. Representatives from Tata AIG South, led by Ramakrishna, facilitated the distribution of insurance and health cards, underscoring the industry-wide collaboration towards journalist welfare. Vijay Devarakonda, in his characteristic charm, advocated for journalist housing and emphasized the importance of health and happiness, citing personal experiences and urging responsible journalism.
Dil Raju commended the efforts of TFJAC, stressing the significance of credible journalism in today’s media landscape, while also shedding light on the underlying message of his upcoming film “Family Star.” R. Naraynamurthy delivered an impassioned speech, advocating for further support towards economically disadvantaged journalists and urging against character assassination.
