Promoting his upcoming film, Aadu Jeevitham, a film that has been in the making for nearly 5-6 years, while in the pre-production pipeline since 2008, Malayalam superstar Prithviraj Sukumaran landed in Hyderabad and interacted exclusively with Gulte.com’s Lokesh Bandi. He has revealed various insights about the film inside the video interview that is live on Gulte YouTube now.
“This is the story of a man who has to spend time in the desert for 3.5 years, and in the final stages of Najeeb’s desert life, he started to move away from human existence. It’s now tough for him to speak to humans, he can’t even phrase lines with multiple words as he adapted to more animals (Goats) than humans now. Haven’t seen or heard any other survival story like this, that’s the reason I’ve picked up Aadu Jeevitham” says Prithviraj Sukumaran. How did the technicians wait on the film for years? “It’s their greatness that all those technicians stayed with the film. The content is so inspiring that they all felt like creating something special and that held us together” he further added, regarding the technicians who worked on the movie.
About the physical transformation: “Losing weight or putting weight for this film is part of the screenplay but not to induce shock value as we do for commercial films where we flaunt our six pack. When the film reaches the moment where I take off my shirt, surely it is not to induce shocker but explain what the character Najeeb went through for years and what that did to his body”.
Do watch the full interview to know more about what Prithviraj says about directing Megastar Chiranjeevi in the coming days, and when Salaar 2 is going to kickstart the shooting and much more.
Directed by Blessy, with music from Oscar winner AR Rahman and sound designed by another Oscar winner Resul Pookutty, The Goat Life (AaduJeevitham) is hitting cinemas on March 28th.
