The happening hero Vijay Deverakonda’s upcoming movie ‘Family Star’ is set to release on April 4th. Other day, Dil Raju revealed that run time of the movie is 2 hours and 40 minutes, which has people wondering if it’s too long. But here’s why the movie’s team might be taking a longer approach.
Several recent blockbusters in Telugu cinema have had similar runtimes. “Hanuman” clocked in at 2 hours and 30 minutes, “Naa Saami Ranga” ran for 2 hours and 26 minutes, and “Guntur Kaaram” stretched to 2 hours and 39 minutes. Within these films while Hanuman stands at Blockbuster followed by Guntur Kaaram And Naa Saami Ranga with mixed talk. The key seems to be using the extra time effectively.
As per insider reports, the “Family Star” team is likely focusing on a strong second half, aiming for a powerful emotional payoff. Emotional journeys often unfold best with dedicated screen time, and the filmmakers are prioritizing that connection with the audience. Just look at “Animal,” which racked up a whopping ₹900 crores in collections despite its 3-hour, 21-minute runtime.
If “Family Star” delivers a compelling story, its extended runtime could become a strength, allowing the emotions to resonate fully. The film is hitting cinemas on April 5th.
