Hero Nani’s super hit film “Hi Nanna” grossed more than ₹70 crores gross from the worldwide box office when it was released. The film has struck a chord with family audience for Nani’s portrayal of a good father and one twist that actually worked out inside theatres. However, it looks like the same film didn’t work in the small screen circuit.
Nani’s Hi Nanna movie didn’t get enough TRPs on television when it was first broadcast on March 17th on the small screen. As the TRP report is doing rounds everywhere now, many are wondering why it got only 4.5 in urban areas and 4.01 in rural areas even though IPL started three days later than streaming. There are various reasons for the same.
These days if a film turns out to be superhit in theatres, surely it is not getting traction on small screen as audiences have already seen it. At the same time, Hi Nanna already made its OTT debut on Netflix last year in December and many would have seen the movie on the streaming site months back. Owing to student exams in March, and all the above factors, it looks like the first-ever streaming of Hi Nanna on television didn’t work big time.
Otherwise, the Nani and Mrunal Thakur starrer that has Abdul Hesham Wahab’s wonderful music has special fanbase too.
