Mythri Expecting Magic From These Boys

Published by

Manjummal Boys, the Malayalam blockbuster grossing over 225 crores, is set to hit Telugu screens on April 6, 2024. Anticipating tough competition from Family Star, the producers, Mythri Movie Makers, have strategically opted for a Saturday release, learning from past experiences like their encounter with Prithviraj Sukumaran’s The Goat Life, which was released alongside Tillu Square and could not do much at the Telugu box office.

Recent trends have shown dubbed Kerala films performing surprisingly well in the Telugu market. However, Sitara Entertainments’ confidence in Bramayugam didn’t translate into success, as the horror drama featuring Mammootty, centered around three characters, failed to work in Telugu.

On the other hand, Premalu, which was released by SS Karthikeya, raked in over 17 crores despite its delayed release and emerged as the highest-grossing film of the week against straight Telugu releases. This makes it intriguing to see how much Manjummal Boys will make.

Manjummel Boys will face tough competition from Tillu Square as it enters its second week. Also, a low-budget film, Bharatanatyam, has caught the attention of many. In such a case, Manjummel Boys will have a testing time at the box office with Family Star and Tillu Square in full flow.

The pre-release event will be held today in Hyderabad, and the entire team will attend. Mythri Movie Makers have pinned a lot of hopes on this project, and seeing the way the Malayalam films are going in Telugu, they are super excited for Manjummel Boys. Will the film bring them respite? It remains to be seen.
