One of the top production houses of Telugu cinema, Mythri Movie Makers, which is currently churning out a pan-India film like “Pushpa 2”, is actually surprising the audience by bringing good content from other industries too. And then, their dubbed films are being talked about right now as they have brought too many of them in a short time.
On March 28th Malayalam film, Prithviraj Sukumaran’s “The Goat Life”(Aadujeevitham) was released in Telugu states by Mythri Movie Makers. Following this, they are coming up with a Telugu version of the industry-hit Malayalam film, the 200 crores grosser Manjummel Boys on April 6th, and the Tamil film, Vijay Antony’s Love Guru on April 11th. Many are wondering why Mythri Movie Makers’ distribution wing is going all out with these dubbed movies. Ever since Mythri started distributing movies, with biggies like Salaar and then surprising hits like Hanu-Man, it looks like there is no stopping in the distribution sector.
But then, critics do say that if Mythri is looking at feeding the theatres in their control in Nizam and other areas with these dubbed movies in a row, that might affect Telugu original movies in terms of reach and business. However, this is a discussion that has been happening for ages, as distributors of dubbed movies always take that shot. On the other hand we can say that they are feeding theatres with good movies in a dry season like this where there are no big releases around. That’s something needs to be appreciated.
