Writer-producer Kona Venkat has made shocking comments. Commenting on his latest horror comedy Geethanjali Malli Vachindi, Kona Venkat said he has wished for Rs 50 crore collections from the film even after it opened to disaster talk. Since it is Anjali’s 50th film, Kona said he prayed the God to give50-crore-grosser film.
Kona said success is very important in the film industry. He said Geethanjali (the first part) was made with just about Rs 3.5 Crore budget and the film went on to become a blockbuster. He said the film gave a boost to several small filmmakers to opt for such experiments.
Kona said he hoped that the second instalment in the Geethanjali franchise would also rake in profits. However, Geethanjali Malli Vachindi received negative to mixed reviews and was dubbed by critics as lacklustre. Audiences always embraced good content films. Even small films with good content turned out to be a huge success. Whereas with poor content in Geethanjali Malli Vachindi, Kona expecting it to do Rs 50 crore grosser is shocking many in the film industry.
