South Indian superstars Mahesh Babu and SS Rajamouli made a fortunate escape from Dubai just as the city was hit by a wave of flash floods and torrential rain, and that is what making fans happy now.
The severe water logging and cancellation of all major flights caused major disruptions at Dubai International Airport (DXB), with reports suggesting a near 48-hour wait time even for VIP travellers. Some passengers were even forced to spend the night sleeping on the airport floor due to the overwhelming situation. Mahesh Babu, who was returning from Italy, and SS Rajamouli, who had been in Dubai for pre-production meetings on their highly anticipated project #SSMB29, were lucky to depart before the weather worsened.
#SSMB29, touted as the most expensive film in Indian cinema, will see Mahesh Babu collaborate with the maverick director SS Rajamouli for the first time. Fans were understandably worried after seeing news reports of the Dubai floods, especially considering the potential impact on the film’s production schedule. However, their timely return has eased anxieties.
While the full extent of the damage caused by the floods is still being assessed, it appears that both Mahesh Babu and SS Rajamouli were able to avoid the worst of the situation and are now safely back in India.
