This weekend, on April 25th, we are actually supposed to witness the return of Nara Rohith to the silver screen with “Prathinidhi 2”, which has popular journalist TV5 Murthy directing it. The film was earlier planned for January release but it got pushed to a later date. And it looks like the movie will miss the present date too.
For reasons unknown, the makers announced that Prathinidhi 2 got pushed to an unknown date, and there is no clarity over that. However, it is coming out that Censor Board folks are not ready to certify the film owing to the political content it has. Because at this time, even if a film passes a Censor test, any objection by anyone would land the issue in front of the Election Commission due to the Election Code that’s in place until the results day and that might result in sacking bureaucrats from their jobs. Perhaps these doubts are the reason why the Censor team are struggling to take the film forward when it comes to certification, say sources.
With Prathinidhi 2 directly dealing with the story of corrupt politicians and the film’s hero, a TV journalist, trying to bring note of the sad state of affairs and vote bank politics that are resonating with current day scenario in a Telugu state, this jolt from Censor Board is expected.
