The wait is over! The first single promo for Allu Arjun’s highly anticipated Pushpa: The Rule, the sequel to the blockbuster Pushpa: The Rise, has been released. While the promo itself is generating excitement with its electrifying music, it also sheds light on an interesting trend – the inclusion of a title song.
“Pushpa: The Rise” notably lacked a song specifically titled “Pushpa.” Though “Taggedhele” gesture song is the first song inside the movie, which actually should be the title song, there is no song in that film that has the words ‘Pushpa’ in it. However, the film’s phenomenal success at the box office seems to have influenced the creative choices for the sequel. “Pushpa 2” prominently features a title track, “Pushpa Pushpa,” suggesting a deliberate strategy to capitalize on the brand recognition established by the first film.
This shift in approach is particularly interesting when compared to Allu Arjun’s previous movies. Films like “DJ: Duvvada Jagannadham,” “Naa Peru Surya,” “Naa Illu India,” and “Ala Vaikunthapurramloo” all lacked dedicated title songs. However, the success of Pushpa: The Rise appears to have reignited the trend of title tracks associated with Allu Arjun films. The “Pushpa Pushpa” promo even evokes memories of his earlier movies like “Bunny,” “Happy,” “Badrinath,” and “Julayi,” which all featured title tracks.
Whether this return to title tracks is solely Allu Arjun’s preference or a collaborative decision between him, director Sukumar, and music composer Devi Sri Prasad remains to be seen. One thing’s for sure: the audience’s reception of the “Pushpa Pushpa” song will be a key indicator of the effectiveness of this new strategy.
