Bollywood superstar Kareena Kapoor Khan has reportedly parted ways with the upcoming film “Toxic,” starring Yash in the lead role.
Initial reports suggested that the ‘Crew’ actress was locked in to play Yash’s sister in the movie, directed by Geetu Mohandas. However, recent developments indicate a change in plans.
Sources close to the production house cite scheduling conflicts as the reason behind Kareena’s departure. Apparently, attempts to align her dates with Yash’s proved unsuccessful, leading to an amicable separation.
“Toxic” is said to be a gangster action drama, with Kiara Advani playing the female lead opposite Yash. However, whispers in the industry hint at a different story.
Some speculate that the senior heroine might have been unaware of the film’s thematic content. “Toxic” is rumoured to explore dark and complex subjects, possibly with LGBTQ+ themes, similar to Mohandas’ previous directorial venture, “Moothon.”
This could be a departure from the roles Kapoor Khan typically portrays, and may have caused creative differences.
Adding fuel to the fire are reports that actress Tripti Dimri also rejected the lead role before Kapoor Khan came on board. The exact reason behind the Animal actress’ decision remains unclear.
All said and done, Toxic is being planned for 2025 release, while the hunt for a new star heroine to play Yash’s sister is likely to continue.
