Will Anupama Proves It Wrong?

Some heroines often score a huge blockbuster with a commercial movie, but then make the surprising move of starring in female-centric movies from then on. That’s what kills their career which just took off and hence cine-observers say that these starlets are making an unwanted mistake. Here’s another case joining that file now.

We have seen how Anushka failed to cash on the ‘Baahubali’ craze, but then went on to star in some female-centric movies like Bhagmathie and Nishabhdam, while doing cameos in big films like Sye Raa and Oopiri. Later on, we haven’t seen her career shining. Same is the case with Keerthy Suresh, who has shot to big fame with Mahanati, but then picked up films like Penguin, Miss India, Good Luck Sakhi and Saani Kadiyam, which didn’t work for her. Though she’s doing commercial cinema in between, like Sarkaru Vaari Paata and Dasara, the actress hasn’t reached a top spot in Tollywood.

Cut to Anupama Parameswaran, the actress just scored a blockbuster, her first of sorts, with Tillu Square. Cashing on that, she should have signed more commercial films. But the actress has female-centric films like Prashanth Varma’s Octopus, Cinema Bandi fame director’s Paradha and a new film by Tamil director AR Jeeva. It will be fine if these movies work, otherwise, she might get only a few commercial films, afterwards, none can predict what will happen to her career.

In a nutshell, many say that doing back to back female-centric films is not at all advisable thing, as the likes of Priyanka Chopra and Kangana Ranaut also lost their careers in Bollywood by indulging in such films for a long time. Let’s see if Anupama will disprove this sentiment.
