In recent times, if there is any special award for ‘postponement’ surely the film that will grab it is none other than Vishwaksen’s “Gangs Of Godavari”.
For reasons unknown, the film has once again shifted its date from May 17th, and the new release date is May 31st, which is already crowded with many movies.
Till the other day, there are even the ‘countdown’ posters of Vishwaksen and Neha Shetty starrer “Gangs Of Godavari” everywhere. But after the political tour of producer Naga Vamsi, who went to Pithapuram to canvas for Powersar Pawan Kalyan’s Janasena, it looks like decisions got changed.
Understanding that the Andhra Pradesh public is fully submerged in a political wave and the public mood will not look at films until the result of the election (June 4th), though the polling date will be over on May 13th itself, the makers took the call of postponing Gangs of Godavari.
At the same time, with IPL fever like never before this year, for obvious reasons including SunRisers Hyderabad giving new josh to Telugu fans, and all the favourite players in other teams like CSK and RCB playing superbly, there is no way that the craze for the cricket league until the final that is scheduled for May 26th. Keeping these things in mind, it looks like Gangs Of Godavari is now eyeing May 31st as the best possible date.
