Telugu Trials & Tamil Triumphs For Krithi!

Published by

Krithi Shetty made a splash in the Telugu film industry with Uppena, entering the 100 crore club with her debut. Her second film Shyam Singha Roy was also successful in the box-office. But after that, the young actress has seen a string of back-to-back failures in the Telugu film industry with The Warrior, Aa Ammayi Gurinchi Cheptha, Macherla Niyojakavargam and Custody.

Now, all her hopes are pinned on Sriram Adittya’s Manamey in which she stars alongside Sharwanand. Manamey is scheduled to hit the theatres on June 7. On the bright side, Krithi’s career began to pick up in Tamil at the same time she was facing setbacks in Telugu.

At the moment, she has three high-profile films in her Tamil line-up.

First up, she will be seen sharing screen space with Jayam Ravi in Genie, a fantasy film. She is also slated to appear in Life Insurance Corporation opposite Love Today-fame actor Pradeep Ranganathan. And now, she will be acting opposite Karthi in Vaa Vaathiyar. The film was announced on the occasion of Karthi’s birthday on Saturday. Vaa Vaathiyar is written and directed by Nalan Kumaraswamy, best known for his cult crime comedy Soodhu Kaavum.

In fact, Krithi was initially supposed to act with Karthi’s elder brother Suriya. She was considered as the heroine for the Bala’s Vanangaan, which had Suriya playing the lead. But that film’s shoot halted, with no updates given later on its production status.

In addition to her films in Tamil and Telugu, Krithi will also be making her Malayalam debut soon opposite Tovino Thomas in the film Ajayam Randam Moshanam.
