We had previously announced that actors Vijay Deverakonda, Dulquer Salman and Brahmanandam will be seen next in Kalki 2898 AD in cameo roles.
Sources close to Gulte.com have revealed that heroines Mrunal Thakur and Shobana will also be appearing in cameos in the star-studded sci-fi mythological magnum opus.
Rumours of Mrunal’s entry in Kalki 2898 AD emerged when the actress shared a post from the film’s promotions on her Instagram stories.
While some netizens used this as an opportunity to criticise the film’s leading lady Deepika Padukone for not re-sharing any of the film’s promotional material on her personal social media, a few speculated whether Mrunal is silently acknowledging her role in the film.
It may be noted that Mrunal Thakur made her debut with Sita Ramam, which was produced by Kalki’s producers Ashwini Dutt, Swapna and Priyanka Dutt.
It was Nag Ashwin who first spotted Mrunal Thakur in Australia, when their respective films Mahanati and Love Sonia were premiering at the Melbourne Indian Film Festival.
Vijay Deverakonda and Dulquer have also been previously associated with Vyjayanthi Movies. Vijay worked with the Dutts’ in Mahanati and Yevade Subramanyam while Dulquer was a part of Mahanati and Sita Ramam.
Shobana will be appearing in Telugu cinema after a gap of 18 years. She was last seen in the 2006 slice-of-life drama film Game.
Alongside the leading ensemble of Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Disha Patani, Kamal Hassan, Amitabh Bachchan and Pasupathi, the team of Kalki 2898 AD have decided to fill their film with cameos. The makers of the film are leaving no stone unturned to ensure a memorable theatrical experience to the audience.
