With three films releasing this Friday, the competition between the releases was understandably intense. While it was no surprise that Gangs of Godavari managed to garner decent collections over the last few days, nobody saw Bhaje Vaayu Vegam rise up the collections ladder with positive word-of-mouth.
Bhaje Vaayu Vegam, starring Karthikeya, was directed by newcomer Prashanth Reddy. The film, produced by UV Creations, was not promoted extensively, which could be one of the reasons why the film did not have much hype before its release. But a few people who saw the film on Friday came out to praise its storytelling, especially in the second half.
Slowly but steadily, more and more people began to flock the theatres to watch the film and appreciate it. A few netizens also began to call “Bhaje Vaayu Vegam” as the winner amongst all the films that released on May 31.
The success of the film reaffirmed Kartikeya’s reputation as an actor with an eye for sensible yet entertaining scripts. The film also proved to be a decent debut for its director Prashanth Reddy.
Above all, the steady growth of Bhaje Vaayu Vegam’s footfalls in the theatres proves that the Telugu audience will always go out of their way to support good cinema, irrespective of the film having less-than-ideal visibility or releasing alongside multiple films.
