‘If You Die, You Should Die Like Ramoji Rao’

Music director MM Keeravani is known for his straight forward nature and he would always share his opinions without any inhibitions. Now, he made some interesting remarks on the previous government in Andhra Pradesh. During the memorial event of Ramoji Rao, Keeravani made satirical comments.

During his speech, Keeravani paid tribute to Ramoji Rao, expressing his admiration and drawing a parallel between Rao and the legendary Bhishma from the Mahabharata. Keeravai stated, “I already told that if we have to live, we should live a life like Ramoji Rao. Now I say that even if you die, you should die like him. Because… Bhishma in the Kurukshetra battle postponed his death until Uttarayanam. Similarly, Ramoji Rao witnessed the freedom of the Andhra Pradesh from the vicious clutches before passing away. That’s why even in death, one should aspire to be like him.”

The comments made by Keeravani are against the previous government’s handling of the state. Keeravani further defended Ramoji Rao against detractors, likening attempts to tarnish his reputation to “throwing mud on the sun.”

Keeravani also reminisced about Ramoji Rao giving him his first opportunity as a music director and mentioned that despite Rao’s atheism, he keeps Rao’s photograph in his prayer room.
