Prabhas’ futuristic sci-fi Kalki 2898 AD was released on a non-holiday (Thursday). Rains and the semi-final cricket World Cup match between India and England were the other factors that impacted the day-one collections of this Nag Ashwin directorial venture.
The movie which was expected to become the biggest opener for all the hype stood as the third-highest opener with 191.50 Cr on day one, because of the aforementioned reasons. If at all, it had been released during a holiday season, and there weren’t other negative factors, Kalki 2898 AD would have made much bigger business, for the talk it received.
The movie is expected to have a humongous first week and the bookings are phenomenal till the weekend in all the territories.
