Nishabdham starring Anushka Shetty, landed on Amazon Prime Video recently. Amidst huge buzz and hype, the film released on the OTT platform and skipped the theatrical release. From the time the film was released, the negative reviews dominated the positive responses from the audiences. Even the critics too posted negative reviews about the film. One thing is sure that the dynamics of a film that releases in theatres and OTT platform is completely different.
When a film releases on an OTT platform, the audiences watch the movie at their convenience, and the success of the movie depends on the number of streaming hours that the film has been watched for.
Considering the buzz the film gained with a cast like Anushka, Madhavan, and others; the film got a perfect welcome. During the release, many trolled Amazon Prime Video to grab the film that has nothing great to talk about. But, Amazon will make a break-even in the long run, which everyone forgot.
Amazon could not attract new subscribers to the platform, but the film is initially a flop but now a hit, as per the streaming hours.
