It is no secret that the Telugu film industry has always held a special place in Dulquer Salmaan’s heart. A combination of good looks, commitment to dub for his own lines and sensible script selection has cemented his popularity in the Telugu states for good.
Dulquer had so far collaborated with Vyjayanthi Movies banner for his two straight Telugu films to date, namely Mahanati and Sita Ramam. Both films are successful, with Dulquer’s characters Gemini Ganesan and Lieutenant Ram earning a ton of love from the audience and the critics like.
As a mark of goodwill towards Vyjayanthi Movies, the banner that produced Sita Ramam and Mahanati, Dulquer had also decided to feature in a cameo in Kalki 2898 AD.
He has stepped out of Vyjayanthi’s shadows briefly to feature next in Sithara Entertainments’ upcoming film Lucky Baskhar. The film, directed by Venky Atluri, is scheduled for an August release. But Dulquer will soon be reuniting with his beloved Vyjayanthi Movies banner for another straight Telugu film. An official announcement is set to follow soon.
The Malayali hunk’s next film with Vyjayanthi Movies will be a high-budget venture directed by Pavan Sadineni. To the uninitiated, Pavan made his directorial debut in 2013 with Prema Ishq Kaadhal. He went on to direct Savitri in 2016 and later, Senapathi in 2021. The filmmaker has most recently worked in the OTT series Dayaa and Paruvu.
Pavan Sadineni may not be the person who first comes to mind when you think of a successful director, but considering Dulquer’s track record in the Telugu film industry, his story must have been really good for Dulquer to accept it. And lest we forget, Vyjayanthi Movies is also known to take risks on their directors by placing their bets on the stories they bring to the table, as opposed to their track record.
