The recent marriage of popular actress Varalakshmi Sarathkumar to Mumbai-based art gallerist Nikohlai Sachdev has been the talk of the town, with rumors swirling about the extravagant cost of the wedding. However, Varalakshmi’s father, veteran actor Sarathkumar, has set the record straight, dismissing the exaggerated reports.
According to the rumors circulating on social media, Sarathkumar allegedly spent a staggering Rs. 200 crore on his daughter’s wedding. However, in a recent interview, the actor clarified that these reports are completely unfounded and false. “I don’t know where this kind of money is supposed to have come from. Such news is completely untrue. People are spreading misinformation without knowing the facts,” Sarathkumar stated, adding that his daughter’s wedding was a simple affair.
The lavish three-day wedding ceremony took place in Thailand on July 2nd, attended by numerous celebrities from the Tamil and Telugu film industries, as well as political figures. The couple later hosted a grand reception in Chennai’s Taj Hotel, which was graced by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin and other dignitaries.
