In the mid 1990s, the film ‘Ammoru’ was a sensational blockbuster. This Kodi Ramakrishna directorial and Shyam Prasad Reddy’s production induced a huge devotional impact on Telugu audience. People who watched the film in theatres, performed poojas before the screens and even broke coconuts. The audiences converted the theatres into mini temples and that’s how ‘Ammoru’ planted a devotional feeling among audiences.
Later many such films on ‘Ammoru’ released in this genre but none of them could not create an impact like Soundarya’s one and eventually films in this genre reduced as audiences’ taste was also changing. And after a huge gap, a film on ‘Ammoru’ is arriving.
‘Mookuthi Amman’ is a Tamil film and in Telugu, this film is titled ‘Ammoru Thalli.’ Lady Superstar Nayanthara is essaying the title role and this marks her digital debut. RJ, anchor and actor Balaji has penned and directed this film along with NJ Saravanan.
The trailer of ‘Ammoru Thalli’ is out and it is entertaining and simultaneously has a message too. Nayan as Ammoru lands at Balaji’s home. She solves the problems of Balaji’s family but the real deal comes when Nayan explains her purpose to land on Earth.
A spiritual guru in the form of Ajay Ghosh has a huge following and devotees. But no one has knowledge about the spiritual guru’s bad intentions. Nayan wants to end this bad practice. Will she be successful forms the plot.
The film will be streaming on Disney+HotStar from November 12th.
