Can SK Repeat Adivi Sesh Like Feat?

Published by

The upcoming film “Amaran,” starring Siva Karthikeyan, is set to release on October 31, just in time for Diwali. Directed by Rajkumar Periasamy, “Amaran” is based on the life of Major Mukund Varadharajan, a soldier who made the ultimate sacrifice during a military operation in 2014. The film aims to blend action and drama while honoring the bravery of the Indian armed forces.

The theme and narrative of “Amaran” could be compared to the Telugu hit film “Major,” which tells the story of Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan, who played a crucial role during the 2008 Mumbai attacks. Featuring Adivi Sesh, “Major” resonated with audiences due to its emotional storytelling and strong performances. The film grossed over ₹64-66 crore worldwide, making it one of the best Telugu films of 2022. Its blend of intense action and heartfelt moments allowed viewers to connect deeply with the protagonist’s journey, contributing to its box office success. Can SK do the same now?

As “Amaran” prepares for its release, it faces the challenge of matching or surpassing the achievements of “Major.” With no major competition during the Diwali period, it has a favourable chance to attract large audiences. However, the way Adivi Sesh promoted Major movie is a thing that resulted in the hefty success of the movie. And now, it remains to be seen how SK will promote the film because that’s the key to success.

In the recent times we have seen movies like Hrithik Roshan’s Fighter and Varun Tej’s Operation Valentine that almost revolved around similar themes and the valiant sacrifice of our soldiers, but haven’t clicked at the box office. Let’s see what happens to Amaran.
