Director Karuna Kumar revealed that Vizag has a very special place in his heart, as the city saw many ups and downs in his life. He also revealed that the movie Matka will narrate a part of history of Vizag. “Vizag city has many similarities with Mumbai city. Like in Mumbai, there are many settlers in Vizag. Today, Vizag has expanded and grown tremendously, from small village to a global city. This movie is a fictional story inspired by the lives of some of the gangsters of Vizag. Varun Tej gave his nod, just after listening to a crucial scene in the movie.
Varun Tej has never failed as an actor, and the efforts he has put in are outstanding. There is a scene in the movie which he did in a single take, and this will be remembered for ages. GV Prakash’s music will give you goosebumps.”
Varun Tej revealed that Matka will tell the story of his character named Vasu from his journey as a 16 years old refugee from Burma, to becoming Matka King. Meenakshi, Nora, and other actors gave in their best. I’m happy to work again with Naveen Chandra.
I made wrong choices after Gaddalakonda Ganesh. However, Karuna Kumar brought out the true actor in me. He has a great vision. I have no qualms to talk always about my family who support me completely. I can’t forget Charan anna’s words recently, when I was in pre release pressure. I’m happy that Lavanya is here.
Varun Tej concluded his speech by uttering a powerful dialogue from the film.
