Nandamuri Balakrishna and Victory Venkatesh are among the most-loved senior heroes in Tollywood. While Balayya is known for entertaining the masses, Venkatesh is popular for his family entertainers. They will clash during Sankranthi 2025 with their respective films, Daaku Maharaaj and Sankranthiki Vasthunnam.
Daaku Maharaj will hit the screens on January 12, 2025, and Sankranthiki Vasthunnam is slated to release on January 14, 2025. Both these actors have an edge during Sankranthi because they are coming with the kinds of films the audience expects from them.
While Daaku Maharaaj is an action drama aimed at the masses, Sankranthiki Vasthunnam looks like a perfect family entertainer with a blend of comedy and emotion.
During this year’s Sankranthi, Venkatesh produced the action thriller Saindhav, but it flopped at the box office. HanuMan triumphed over Saindhav and Mahesh Babu’s Guntur Kaaram this year. Last year, Balayya scored a hit during Pongal with Veera Simha Reddy despite clashing with Megastar Chiranjeevi’s Waltair Veerayya.
Venkatesh scored multiple hits with his Sankranthi releases, such as Dharma Chakram, Kalisundam Raa, Lakshmi, Bodyguard, Seethamma Vaakitlo Sirimalle Chettu, Gopala Gopala, and F2. All these are family entertainers that were released during Sankranthi.
On the other hand, Balayya also has a good Pongal track record with movies like Samarasimha Reddy, Narasimha Naidu, Lakshmi Narasimha, Gautami Putra Shatakarni, Jai Simha, and Veera Simha Reddy. Now, his upcoming Pongal release, Daaku Maharaaj, is also an action drama like the above-mentioned films.
Going by the previous Pongal track record, it looks like both Balayya and Venky Mama have an edge among the upcoming Sankranthi releases.
