Suriya’s Huge Budgeted Mythological Film Shelved?

Actor Suriya’s Kanguva faced big criticism after its release while it was the most awaited film of the season. Kanguva’s box office performance also is not great. Amid this, new rumors about Suriya’s other big-budgeted movie started making rounds.

The rumor had it that a big Bollywood project titled ‘Karna’ planned to be made with more than Rs 350 crore with Suriya in the lead, is now being shelved. The big project helmed by Bhaag Mikha Bhaag director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra was expected to be made in two parts. Suriya was set to play Karna while the most happening Janhvi Kapoor was supposed to play Draupadi.

The reports say that the hefty budget is the reason and the makers are said to be hesitating to put in huge monies. Bollywood’s other mythological project Ashwatthama with Shahid Kapoor too was reportedly shelved recently due to budget shooting up to 500 crore rupees.

It is heard that Kanguva’s performance and mixed reviews also impacted the project ‘Karna’ along with many other reasons. Kanguva is set to have a sequel, where in Karthi will be making an appearance. Though the sequel announcement by the producer enticed Suriya’s fans, the rumors of Karna being shelved have left them disappointed.
