One ‘Hit’, Too many ‘Misses’!

Happening beauty Meenakshi Chaudhary is desperate to gain foothold in Tollywood with her glamourous screen presence and impressive acting skills. She managed to score a big success quite early in her career with Adivi Sesh’s ‘Hit : The Second Case’ and grabbed the attention of moviegoers and filmmakers.

When she bagged the opportunity to appear as one of the female leads in Ma byhesh Babu’s Guntur Kaaram, Meenakshi sets sights on emerging as a top-league heroine in Telugu. Unfortunately, her dreams came crashing down as the film didn’t achieve the desired success. Moreover, her insignificant role in the narrative further dented her hopes.

Despite Guntur Kaaram’s poor box office result, Meenakshi succeeded in finding plump offers as four of her remaining films also released during this year. But, she needs to settle with only one big hit throughout the year despite having five releases which is very rare for heroines this year.

Meenakshi appeared as the main lead in Thalapathy Vijay’s GOAT, but couldn’t bag success and much fame with her insubstantial role. Dulquer Salman’s Lucky Bhaskar brought a big cheer for her as the film emerged as one of the biggest hits this year. Her flawless performance as a middle class wife also received wide appreciation.

Unfortunately, she couldn’t continue her success streak after Lucky Bhaskar as her next two outings Matka and Mechanic Rocky failed to strike a chord with the viewers. Earlier this year, her Tamil film Singapore Saloon also left no trace at the box office.

Overall, Meenakshi scored only one big hit in 2024. What was supposed to be a successful year turned out be slightly disappointing because a couple of big-ticket films didn’t bring her any laurels as both of them failed at the box office and medium budget films also didn’t fare well. She has multiple offers in her kitty for 2025. Up next, she will be seen in an entertaining role in Venkatesh’s Sankranti ki Vastunnam.
