Audiences Also Responsible For Nepotism: Kriti

Often times, we see a lot of actors in Bollywood openly complaining about the nepotism. Karan Johar cracks jokes on himself saying that he is the father of Nepotism. Despite its existence, a lot of actors groomed themselves, climbed up the ladder and achieved the stardom. Kriti Sanon is one heroine who found her way amidst the nepotism. However, she has no complaints about it.

Kriti Sanon was at the 55th International Film Festival of India in Goa. Speaking at a masterclass, Kriti felt that the film industry alone is not responsible for the nepotism and the audiences as well as the media also plays a crucial part. However, she thinks that when someone is talented, they will meet opportunities and if otherwise, it will be difficult for them to survive.

“I feel the industry is not so much responsible for nepotism. It’s also the media and the audience. The audiences want to watch what the media is putting about certain star kids. Because the audience is interested in them, the industry feels that since the audience is interested let’s make a movie with them. So I think it’s a circle. But I feel if you are talented, you will get there. If you’re not talented, and if the connect is not there with the audiences you will not get there,” Kriti reportedly said.

Kriti Sanon entered the film industry with Mahesh Babu’s 1-Nenokkadine in Telugu. Later, she debuted in Hindi with Heropanti, starring Tiger Shroff in the lead role. She won the National Award for Best performance as an actress for the film Mimi.
