Indian movie lovers are keenly awaiting the release of RRR, Rajamouli’s pre-independence patriotic drama. This epic multistarrer has NTR and Ram Charan playing Komaram Bheem and Alluri Seetharamaraju respectively. The two teasers that showcased their ferocious heroism have raised the expectations on the film to the next level.
RRR is a fictitious story of the coming together of the two iconic Telugu freedom fighters who hailed from two different time periods in history. Now, the latest buzz is that Rajamouli has taken cinematic liberty and incorporated the Jallianwala Bagh Massacre, one of the most tragic events in India’s struggle for independence, in RRR.
The Jallianwala Bagh Massacre, perpetuated by the British General Dyer on the innocent Sikh pilgrims during the Baisakhi festival in 1919 resulted in the death of over thousand Indians. This was one of the landmark events that inspired the Indians to kick out the British from the motherland.
Rajamouli is known for translating intense emotions with ultimate cinematic experience. And needless to say, the Jallianwala Bagh Massacre episode in RRR will give some goosebumps inducing moments to movie lovers.
While neither Komaram Bheem nor Alluri Seetharamaraju are anywhere related to the Jallianwala Bagh incident, it will be interesting to see Rajamouli’s new twist to this iconic event in India’s freedom struggle.
