The television game show which is infotainment for viewers with Big B’s interesting and engaging conversations landed in a trouble after he asked a question related to Manusmirti in the Karamveer episode, which had social activist Bezwada Wilson and actor Anoop Soni as guests.

For the Rs 6,40,000 prize money, the question was: On 25 December 1927, Dr. BR Ambedkar and his followers burned copies of which scripture? The options given were a) Vishnu Purana, b) Bhagavad Gita, c) Rigdev, and d) Manusmriti.

After answering the question, Amitabh Bachchan also said that “In 1927, Dr. BR Ambedkar condemned the ancient Hindu text Manusmriti to ideologically justify caste discrimination and untouchability and he also burned copies of it.”

This question raised objection from the netizens and a few of them accused the quizzing show of running the “Leftists propaganda”, while others blamed it for “hurting Hindu sentiments”.
