The topic of Devi Sri Prasad’s background score for Pushpa 2 being given to someone else became a hot discussion point after he openly addressed the producers at a Chennai event.
Later, producer Ravi Shankar clarified that there was no issue, and at the Hyderabad event, Devi seemed to have forgotten about the controversy, returning to his usual self, much to the relief of fans.
While Sam C.S. contributed to the background music, Devi’s name remains on the title card for the original background score, with Sam credited in an additional category. So, the main credit for Pushpa 2 clearly goes to Devi Sri Prasad, and everything seems to have settled peacefully.
The point to highlight here is that the partnership between Maithri and Devi Sri Prasad has resulted in eight successful movies so far, all of which have been blockbusters or superhits.
Not a single film has been average or a flop. Their collaboration began with Srimanthudu, which became one of the best albums in Mahesh Babu’s career. Janatha Garage with Jr. NTR was another massive hit, and Rangasthalam with Ram Charan set industry records. The songs of Chitralahari were loved by the youth, and Uppena saw Devi’s music play a pivotal role in the film’s success.
The duo’s work on Pushpa: The Rise earned both Allu Arjun and Devi National Awards. When Waltair Veerayya was released, Mega fans were ecstatic, as both the songs and the background score were well-received.
Now, Pushpa: The Rule is following the same path, with the film’s opening already signaling even greater success than the first part. Mass songs and the background score are creating a buzz.
Looking ahead, Maithri and Devi Sri Prasad’s collaboration continues with Good Bad Ugly starring Ajith and Ustaad Bhagath Singh with Pawan Kalyan. If these films also succeed, this combo could go down as one of the most special and successful partnerships in Telugu cinema, cementing their legacy.
